Alert policies

There are two types of Alert Policies that define how and when alerts are to be distributed:

  • Anti-flooding policies place restrictions on the frequency with which users are sent alerts. If no custom Antiflooding policies are defined or applied, the system default will limit alert distribution to five alerts per hour allowing a reminder to be sent after one hour.
  • Sending policies specify allowed sending days and times and the distribution methods to use. These policies may also specify an Anti-flooding policy to use to limit the frequency of alert distribution.

Once a new alert is defined, it can be associated with one or more alert policies in the Alert Subscriptions area in Administration → Alerts Management
