Setting up a Service Desk type delivery method

Create delivery methods that can send alerts to servers running Service Desk Plus. Alerts must be sent using one of the two Service Desk Plus methods: REST or SERVLET.

To configure the delivery method:

  1. Go to Administration → Alerts Configuration → Delivery methods.
  2. Select Service Desk in the left-hand panel, then click the New button. The Create a New Delivery Method window appears.



  3. Enter the required information: 

    Name A unique name that identifies this specific delivery method. 
    Url The URL of the Service Desk Plus server to which alerts will be sent. The URL for both serves is usually http://[SERVER]:[PORT]/sdpapi/request/
    Timezone This is the timezone that will be used to calculate when alerts can be sent based upon the permitted sending schedules defined in alert policies that use this delivery method.
    Language The language in which to send the alert content.
    Send method: RESTSend method: SERVET Select the sending method.
    User / Technician Key Enter your user name and tehcnician key. See the Service Desk Plus instruction to learn how te generate a technician key.
  4. Click the Save button. A message with a code is sent to the URL specified in the delivery method. This activation code must be validated on the server side before the delivery method can be used.
