Create a sending policy
Sending policies dictate how to send alerts, to whom, when, and how often. The how to send and to whom of the policy is specified by the delivery methods that are selected for the policy. Therefore, in order to create a sending policy, you must have at least one delivery method already available. The how often is optional and is determined by the anti-flooding policy selected for the policy.
To create a new sending policy:
- Go to Administration → Alerts Configuration → Alerts Policies.
Select Sending Policies in the left-hand panel, then click the New button. The Alerts Delivery Settings window appears.
Enter the required information.
Name Enter a unique name to describe the policy. By Default Select to set this as the default policy for new alerts and predefined alerts that have not actively been assigned a sending policy. Antiflooding Policy (Optional) Select an anti-flooding policy to limit the frequency of distribution for persistent alerts. Days of Week, From, To Indicate the days of the week and the hours during which alerts should be distributed. The time zone defined in the delivery method(s) selected are used to calculate times. Delivery Mode Select from the available delivery types. Receiver Select from the available delivery methods. Actions Use the controls in this column to add or remove delivery methods.
- Click the Save button.
