Geographic coordinate system (coordsystem)
Returns a column identifying the coordinate system of the given geocoord column as either laton or geohash. This can be useful if you have a column of geocoordinates in both formats and you want to work with them separately. For example, you can use this operation to identify the system used, then apply a filter to isolate one type that you want to convert to the other system.
How does it work in the search window?
Select Create column in the search window toolbar, then select the Geocoord operation. You only need to specify one argument:
|Coords string (mandatory)||geocoord|
The data type of the new column is string. The result can be latlon, geohash, or null.
We want to identify the coordinate system of the geocoordinate values in our Geocoord column. Click Create column and select the Geographic coordinate system operation. Then, select the Geocoord column as the Geocoord argument. Click Create Column.
The result is a new column that identifies the geocoordinate type as either latlon or geohash. If it is unable to identify the geocoordinate value as conforming to either type, it will return null.
How does it work in LINQ?
Use the operator
as... and add the operation syntax to create the new column. The syntax is as follows:
