Monitoring user activity

In addition to the administrative tasks related to creating, modifying, and deleting users, administrators can analyze and monitor how individuals are using the Devo Platform.

User activity information is collected in the User Logins and User Activity tabs in Administration → Users.

Who is logging in, how, and how often?

If you need to monitor the login frequency of the users in your domain and how they access the platform, you can use the User Logins tab, which lists the most recent user logins. Depending on your role permissions, you may only see a list of your most recent logins or you may be able to see a list of the most recent logins by all domain users. Click the selector above the table to switch from one view to another.

If you want to display only the logins of a specific user, you can use the Column Filters. Click the Email column filter, write a user email and their most recent logins will be displayed.

To show more than the last 10 logins, use the drop-down list in the upper-right of the window.

Check the date when users accessed the domain in the Login Date column and how they accessed it in the Login Method column. This column may display the following values depending on how the user accessed the domain:

  • password - If the user accessed the domain using the standard logging method (email + password).
  • password (MFA) - If the user accessed the domain using their email and password and verifying its account through the Multi-factor authentication method.
  • saml - If the user accessed the domain through an identity provider using the SAML authentication standard.
  • openid - If the user accessed the domain through an identity provider using the OpenID protocol.

Learn more about the different methods of login into the app and how to enable them in User authentication.

Who is doing what in the application?

If you need to monitor the specific actions performed by each user in your domain you can use the User Activity tab, which lists the most recent activity along with the timestamp and information about the user who performed the action. If you have the required permissions, you can see either your own recent activity or the activity of all the users in the domain. Click the selector above the table to switch from one view to another.

If you want to display only a specific activity, you can use the Column Filters. Click a column filter, write meaningful input and the desired activity will be displayed based on the column you used to filter (User, Email, Role, or Action).
